FC Barcelona will announce the sacking of Ernesto Valverde imminently and have lined up a former Premier League manager as his successor, according to reports in Spain.
Valverde has come under the fire over the past few months with the Blaugrana not displaying their usual fluid football the club’s supporters have become accustomed to – while losing the Copa del Rey final and being overturned by a three-goal advantage in the UEFA Champions League semi-final by Liverpool.

According to Spanish publication AS, the club’s biggest stars have voiced their support for their coach but Spanish Radio Station C1 claim they announcement will be made of his departure this week.
Former Everton and Wigan Athletic head coach Roberto Martinez has emerged as the early front-runner despite a host of other names being liked with a move to the Camp Nou over the past 12 months.
