Chelsea up to third, Man U suffer

Chelsea edged closer to securing a top-four berth after thrashing Watford while Manchester United will be playing Europa League football next season following a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.

Chelsea climbed to third place in the Premier League after thrashing Watford 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek broke the deadlock for the Blues three minutes after the break while David Luiz doubled their lead three minutes later. Gonzalo Higuain sealed the victory with 15 minutes remaining.

Maurizio Sarri’s men leapfrogged Tottenham Hotspur in third place with 71 points and have the destiny in their own hands to finish third ahead of next week’s final clash.

Huddersfield Town 1-1 Manchester United

Manchester United are mathematically out of the race to finish in the top four after they were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Huddersfield Town on Sunday after.

Scott McTominay gave United a dream start in the eighth minute with the opener but Isaac Mbenza equalised for the Terriers on the hour-mark and ended hopes of the Red Devils to finish in the UEFA Champions League places.
